Romans 8:28 (New International Version)
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28
"of those who love Him" in this verse is key. Love Him first and God will work (imagine that) for your good. God Himself treats this like a full-time commitment, that He will WORK, and continually keep working FOR your good.
"Who have been called according to His purpose" Ah, this tells us something critical…. you can’t really love Him unless you are called according to His purpose. Is this a rider? No! It tells you that when HIS calling is a real and conscious part of all the math that you do, then you are capable of loving Him!
"And we know" … you can take this in many ways: 1. we know from scripture 2. We know from experience. Both are challenges also. Did you know? Did you experience this for yourself?
This is the verse in the Amplified:
And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.
